Day 1 Home City > Delhi Your India Panorama trip starts with an overnight flight to Delhi via Europe. Day 2 Delhi Once you arrive in India’s Capital, you’ll be transferred to the Le Meridien Hotel for 2 nights. Day 3 Delhi [B] Sightseeing tour of New Delhi in the morning, visit the Presidential Palace and Parliament House, stop to see the India Gate, Qutub Mina and Humayun’s Tomb, a Mughal masterpiece built in 1573. This afternoon, enjoy a city tour of Old Delhi visiting the Raj Ghat, Delhi’s monument to Mahatma Gandhi, the magnificent Red Fort dating from the era of Mughal power and the Jami Masjid, the most elegant mosque in India. Day 4 Delhi > Varanasi [B] Fly to Varanasi, India’s most holy city which is as old as Babylon and Thebes. Embark on an excursion to Sarnath, where Buddha preached his first sermon. Visit the Archaeological Museum containing abundant Buddhist statues, among them, the Ashoka’s Lion Capital is famed as the national emblem of India. Stay at the Taj Ganges Hotel for 2 nights. Day 5 Varanasi [B] Start your day with a boat ride on the Ganges River and see thousands of devout Hindus descend to the holy waters for purification. This is followed by a walking tour of the Ghats, the chain of stone steps along the western bank of the Ganges that forms the major attraction of Varanasi. Other highlights include the Bharat Mata Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Alamgir Mosque, Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple and the Ramnagar Fort, the home of the former Maharaja of Banaras built in 17th century. Day 6 Varanasi > Khajuraho [B] Fly to Khajuraho, home to a series of forts and of course, the splendid temples of Khajuraho. You will visit Western and Eastern group of Khajuraho Temples. Though these temples have gained popularity because of their erotic carvings, they are reflective of the traditional way of life of the Hindu society in the medieval period. Stay overnight at the Chandela Hotel. Day 7 Khajuraho > Agra [B] After completion of the remaining sightseeing tour in Khajuraho, you travel by road to Jhansi and continue by train to Agra. On arrival, you will stay at the Mughal Sheraton Hotel for 2 nights. Day 8 Agra [B] A great day of sightseeing begins in Red Fort, Agra's dominant structure. Make a stop at Mother Theresa's Hostel where lifes are saved through a handful of devoted nuns, a real eye-opener for all of us that live in comfort. Visit India𠏋 most enduring icon - Taj Mahal at sunset to watch the beautiful white marble turn slowly to soft, rosy pink. Day 9 Agra > Jaipur [B] An overland journey to Jaipur takes you through peaceful rural India. En route, we stop at the abandoned capital of Fatehpur Sikri, view its glorious courtyards and palaces which conjure up dreams of the mysterious past. Stop at the Maharaja's Lodge (Chandra Mahal Haveli) for lunch on your own. Visit Bharatpur's 29 square kilometer marshland, one of the finest bird sanctuaries in the world. Arrive in Jaipur this afternoon and stay at the Rajputana Hotel for 2 nights. Day 10 Jaipur [B] This morning visit the Amber Fort, known as “the sleeping beauty of Rajasthan”, to wander among glittering mosaics and the enchanting Hall of Mirrors. This afternoon, enjoy a city tour of Jaipur visiting the Jantar Mantar Observatory, City Palace, and the Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds, an elaborate building covered with delicate honeycomb screens and carved balconies. Jaipur is India’s shopping destination par excellence. Day 11 Jaipur > Jodhpur [B] Your day begins with a drive to Jodhpur, once the capital of the state of Marwar. In the afternoon, explore the city and visit its magnificent Meherangarh Fort filled with courtyards and palaces. You also visit the British influenced Umaid Bhawan Palace, designed by London architects which stands among lawns and bougainvillea. Overnight stay at the Taj Hari Mahal Hotel. Day 12 Jodhpur > Udaipur [B] This morning you are off to visit Kumbhalgarh Fort and enjoy its superb views, high above the pass to Udaipur, and then the remarkable temple complex in Ranakpur, which is one of the five holiest Jain sites in India. Walking through the Chaumukha Temple, you will find every conceivable surface of the white marble walls, pillars and ceilings is carved with unbelievable intricacy and imagination. Arrive in Udaipur later afternoon and stay at the Lake Palace Hotel for 2 nights. Day 13 Udaipur [B] India's “City of Dreams”, the air of Udaipur is filled with romance and magic. Today you explore its huge City Palace and museum that contains superb collections of Moghul painting and carving. You'll also visit the Jagdish temple, dedicated to Vishnu with carved marble columns and sculptures. At Sahelion Ki Bari or “Garden of Friends”, you’ll have time to wander through the spectacular garden. This evening, board an evening cruise and enjoy the enchanting views of Udaipur city and the island of Jag Mandir, with its domes, marble pillars and fountains. Day 14 Udaipur > Mumbai [B] Take a morning excursion to Eklingji, a tiny village in the center of a huge temple complex dating from 734 AD and rebuilt in the 15th century. The Nagda Temples, although it is in ruins, you can still see glimpses of glorious days. This evening you fly to Bombay and stay overnight at the Taj President Hotel. Day 15 Mumbai > Aurangabad [B] Return to the airport early morning for your flight to Aurangabad. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to the Taj Residency Hotel. Enjoy a tour to the cave temples of Ellora. These 34 monasteries and temples, extending over more than 2km, were dug side by side in the wall of a high basalt cliff. With its uninterrupted sequence of monuments dating from 600 AD to 1000 AD, Ellora brings the civilization of ancient India to life. Not only is the Ellora complex a unique artistic creation and a technological exploit but, with its sanctuaries devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, it illustrates the spirit of tolerance that was characteristic of ancient India. Day 16 Aurangabad > Mumbai [B] Enjoy a full day sightseeing of Ajanta. The first Buddhist cave monuments at Ajanta dates back between 1st and 2nd centuries B.C. During the Gupta period (5th and 6th centuries A.D.), many more richly decorated caves were added. The paintings and sculptures of Ajanta is considered the masterpieces of Buddhist religious art and have had a considerable artistic influence. This evening, fly to Mumbai and on arrival you are met and transferred to the Taj President Hotel for 2 nights. Day 17 Mumbai [B] Morning visit the Prince of Wales Museum, the Gateway of India overlooking the harbor, and the Dhobi Ghat, a unique and colorful outdoor laundry. Then drive up Malabar Hill to see the lovely Hanging Gardens and Kamla Nehru Park. Back in the city, you visit Mani Bhawan, a small museum dedicated to the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi, and end your day at the bustling Crawford Market. Your room is available for you to freshen up before transfering to the airport in time to catch an early morning flight home. Day 18 Mumbai > Home City Early morning departure home.
